What is EMDR?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapy that helps people heal from trauma or upsetting memories. While you briefly focus on a painful memory, the therapist guides your eye movements (or uses tapping or sounds), which helps your brain process the memory in a healthier way. Over time, the memory becomes less distressing and feels more like something from he past rather than something that still hurts now. Often these techniques result in noticeable improvement within just a few sessions. Ashley is EMDR trained and can help support you in deciding if this treatment is right for you.
